Hockey Coach

paul_lubanskiSince 1998 Lubanski has authored a widely acclaimed hockey skills/instructional column for "Hockey Weekly"--a Midwest based hockey trade paper that reaches thousands on a weekly basis. Lubanski has experience as the Lead Instructor for USA Hockey Coaching Education Program (CEP) in Michigan and as State of Michigan Coach-In-Chief for USA Hockey's In-Line Hockey Program. He is a former Director of Skill Development in the state of Michigan for Rochester, NY based Maksymum Hockey and a frequent radio guest discussing various hockey skill teaching methodology on Maksymum's weekly radio show. He has coached all levels of AAA and High School ice hockey and all levels of Roller Hockey. He also led several championship baseball teams as a manager for the NFWB (North Farmington-West Bloomfield, Michigan) youth baseball organization.

From 2004 season through today-- he directs the Farmington Hills (Farmington Hills, Michigan) Hockey Association's Tim Horton's/TimBits Learn-to-Skate Program and performed individual skill enhancement sessions for FHHA and hockey organizations throughout metropolitan Detroit. He coached the 2006-07 and 2007-08 Michigan State (NCRHA) University Roller Hockey teams'. Lubanski was selected to coach the U-17 USA Hockey representative team at the World Jewish Ice Hockey Championships Games in Metulla, Israel in July or 2009. He is a USA Hockey Certified Level-4 coach. He has worked at several hockey schools and has 25 years total coaching experience. He played high school, junior and was a walk-on at Michigan State University-East Lansing,MI. Lubanski has lived in Farmington Hills, Michigan for the past 25 years. Currently, he also conducts coaching enhancement/effective teaching and parental guidance seminars as well as motivational speaking sessions that extremely well received.

Much of his focus is centered upon helping ice hockey parents learn the games fundamentals of the game so that they may serve as "pseudo coach" in an appropriate manner to their respective children. His son Brett--age 18--is stand-out player for the Kenai River Brown Bears (Alaska) of the NAHL and recently served as captain of the famed detroit HoneyBaked Midger Major hockey club. Lubanski has lived in Farmington Hills, Michigan for the past 25 years. He also has a son Eric (23) and daughter Alliison (20).
