A few things to know about me:
I'm intuitive, hard-working, energetic and a morning person who loves animals but am super allergic to cats.
My role with most clients:
Collaborator | Empowerer | Motivator
The best person for me to work with or assist is:
is motivated, willing to do some work, wants change, and isn't an Eeyore.
The sorts of challenges they might be facing are:
feels unsure where to begin or what to do next in their business; can't see how to overcome an obstacle that is impeding growth or forward momentum; feels stuck in a rut or in crisis mode and is motivated to not stay there; wants to write a book but the process seems overwhelming
I help companies and individuals exceed their own expectations by working with them to uncover what is holding them back and then creating a game-plan of how they can move forward to reach and exceed their goals. I'm a former professor and higher education academic administrator. I published my first piece of writing at age 12 and have written for more than 200 newspapers, magazines, journals and websites. I'm the co-author or author of eight published books and counting, including three business books. Most recently was Creating a Freelance Career (Routledge, 2019). I started my first business at age 18, when I bought into a franchise, and I have consistently owned or co-owned at least one company (even when I was working full-time for others) ever since. I have owned or own companies in these sectors: publishing; health, wellness and events planning; automotive-related; fine and applied arts; higher education consulting; communications; and apparel design.
I provide coaching in two distinct areas: writing/publishing and entrepreneurship and business guidance. For more than 20 years, I have helped individuals who wish to write articles or books understand the traditional publishing or self publishing processes, and then I've worked with them one-on-one to realize those dreams (through coaching them, helping with structure and content editing, and finding agents and/or publishers or the best self-publishing platforms. I have helped clients take dozens of ideas and turn them into tangible products. For two decades, I have helped business owners tell their stories more effectively through marketing and PR consulting, and then this morphed into entrepreneur and business owner coaching, helping identify and work through blocks to growth.
